Pros: low price, sturdy build, quick release mounting, optional riser for co-witnessing or customization, variable intensity works well for both colors, and the option to choose between red and green dots is great for use in varied environments and conditions. Cons: laser (both red and green dots) has a "starburst" to it (not a crisp dot), so it's slightly distracting. Commentary: Bought this sight as a budget option for my "tacticool" S&W M&P15-22, I love the quick release for switching between accessories, or simply moving it to accommodate a magnifier. I only ever use it for plinking with the .22, so I can't attest to how it holds zero under much recoil, but a few thousand rounds of .22 haven't budged it, and it was easy to sight in. With the riser installed, it co-witnesses perfectly with my MBUS iron sights, as well as most magnifiers, though it makes it slightly uncomfortable to look through without a cheek riser on the default M4-style stock.

Got this for my son's 10/22. What an absolute joy to shoot. Nice bright optics, very easy install, and had it driving tacks at 50 yards within 10 minutes. No, this is not an EOTech, Aimpoint, or even a Vortex, but for the $, this is one great little dot, especially for young ones. Makes it much easier to focus on their breathing and trigger control, and I'm just worried about taking it away when he's a little older to work on his open sight shooting. Might not want to let it go.

It isn't the most asthetically pleasing red dot I've ever had, but it mounts rock solid and maintains its zero like nobody's business. The dot is crisp and sharp. Mounted on an M1A1 carbine, US Postal Meter. I took the lens caps off because like most other brands, they are cheap and waiting to fall apart.

The light has a cascading, starbursting effect; not a clean, round, sharp dot. And it is rather tall, even with low mount.

Received my scope on Thursday, mounted it in minutes. Went to the range Saturday. Zeroed it in and shot over 100 rounds in my M4. Never had to readjust. Maintained good groupings. Great scope for the money

So I just got this today and put it on my AR and it looks sweet. I did sight it in using my iron sights but while doing so, I discovered the elevation and windage are opposite of what they say. The locking feature is nice and it seems to be built well. I will most likely be purchasing another one for another rifle.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to do reviews. I was trying to do my homework before I bought a red dot for my AR. I read so many good reviews about the three sizes of UTG red dots I had to get one. I was prepared to dish out more money than this, but the reviews convinced me. Everything written about them was true: great construction; bright, even in daylight; easy mounting; holds zero well; and comes with two mounts for different heights. Even the negatives were true: there is a slight starburst on higher brightness settings and the set screws on the elevation and windage adjustments require patience. But the scope is well made and feels sturdy, and after 400+ rounds, it's as dependable as the first day I got it.

I'm going to say this is a great buy for the every day hillbilly, especially if you love to shoot. I mounted it on my AK 7.62x39mm. Just under a thousand rounds later, and it's still zeroed in.

I ordered this sight after reading the reviews and I am not disappointed. For this price, you cannot beat this sight. Nice, sturdy construction. Comes with two different height quick detach options. Both dots are easy to see in broad daylight. Would definitely recommend. Also, CTD gets everything I order to me in 2 days!! Outstanding!!

This is a great dot sight for the price. Went right on the A3 upper in a couple of minutes and came with all the tools required, except for a flat head screwdriver, but I'm sure everyone has one lying around. I have to admit I was a little wary after reading about the starburst but of course you'll see that if you're looking at something close range. Haven't gotten to take it to the range yet, but I will be sure to update. Great packaging and shipping. Thanks again, CTD!

Wow. This is a great sight for the money. Construction is outstanding. The fact that you have options on how the sight mounts to the riser allows you to get a little extra offset if needed. Bright as heck. It's hard to buy a sight when you can't touch and feel its construction. This is one sight that can take some abuse. I'm not the nicest person when it comes to my tools, and this is a tool that helps me acquire a fast sight picture with both eyes open. I have bumped it, slid it on the ground, and have just plain been mean to it, pumping round after round of 7.62x39mm through the gun. 7.62x39mm is not the largest round in the world, but rapidly putting round after round on target can make a cheaper sight lose its zero. Not this one. I would love a big time sighting system, but for the money you spend on this and the features that you get, I can buy one of these for every gun I own and still not scratch the surface of the cost of a big time sight. Recommending this sight to friends and family.

Took my M&P 15 to the range yesterday with this red dot. Fired 300 rnds and the dot held excellent. Was a sunny day and had no trouble seeing the dot at 100 meters. Consistently put rounds in center mass. If you are planning on buying one of these I give it the highest marks.

Bought this to mount on my quad rail handguard on a delton mid length standard A2 upper AR 15. All I can say is that I am highly impressed with this sight. The high mount it came with was the perfect height for me to see my iron sights on my carry handle and co witness the red dot. The green dot is especially bright. Quick detach mounts seem sturdy and strong when installed properly. Locktite everything and nothing will come loose!! Reticle is a little starburst like and adjustments for windage and elevation are labeled backwards, but for what you get with this package those things are minor drawbacks. A must buy in my opinion, I would definitely recommend this and would buy it again.

I wanted a low cost red dot and UTG hasn't disappointed before, so I gave it a shot. Great look and solid construction. Mounted on my RRA LAR-15, it looks great. For those who talk about the starburst recticle: if you look at a wall 6 feet away, it is starburst-like. But, once mounted and used at range, it's perfect.

Anyone thinking about buying this- think no more. For the money you can't do better. Put one on my S&W M&P 15 and it looks great and was easy to zero. Dot holds well after a few magazines. I own several UTG products and never a bad word about them. Fine quality.

Wanted an inexpensive red/green dot sight for my JR .45 carbine and came across this gem of a sight! Performs flawlessly even after 500 rounds. Love the cantilever quick release!!! Was zeroed right out of the box. Both the red and green dot are very crisp and sharp. Only complaint is that the flip up lens covers could fit a little tighter as the front cover tends to fall off after 20-25 rounds, but not that big a deal!! If you want a very reliable red/green dot sight on the cheap, don't hesitate on this one!

This little sight is well worth the money. The funny thing is the windage and elevation setting are labeled in reverse. Meaning left is actually right and so forth, not a big set back. Only two problems; 1. Red dot is not that bright during daylight (the green is outstanding). 2. The quick detach mounts loosen after a few shots of 7.62. Some thread lock will fix the problem if your not going to take the sight on and off a lot.

Nice solid construction, a little on heavy side, easy to operate, dissapointed with dot, both red and green are like starburst pattern even at lowest settings. Have not field tested was going to mount on ar15-m4. I'll ask for exchange and see if I can get a better dot.

Not a bad little red/green dot for 50 dollars. I put in on my AR-15 within a matter of 2 minutes. After zeroing you can "lock" down your sight. You get both types of mounts which is outstanding. Very pleased with it.
