I purchased this barrel to replace the 26" barrel on my Remington 870 Express. Now I have a shotgun that is perfect for home defense and can be reconfigured for hunting. It fits perfectly and was very easy to install, even for a novice like me.

This is an awesome barrel, and CTD was fantastic to do business with. Just keep in mind you will need to have a 20" barrel if you want the 8 round mag extension. This one will only allow the +7.

I bought this barrel as an upgrade for my Remington 870 Super Mag. Super easy to install. I kept my old barrel and switch them out when I go hunting. Matte finish matched the gun perfectly. I bought a tactical stock and this barrel for my shotgun. After springing for these upgrades I spent less than I would have for a tactical shotgun, plus I still have the field barrel for hunting. Great way to upgrade to a home defense weapon without spending more money.

I went shooting recently with this barrel on my 870 and I loved it. I loaded 3" BB birdshot and fired about 50 shells. It really covers a wide area, at about 10 yards I set up six bowling pins about 8 inches apart and took out all six with four shots! Some may consider that kind of pattern a bad thing but that's exactly what I was looking for. If you want a reasonably priced open choke barrel this is a great choice. My 870 is much easier to clean now with the 18" barrel too.

I am looking forward to trying it out this week. I ordered this on Thursday and received it on Saturday. I tried removing the original bead sight in order to switch it out with a HiViz sight. I may need to apply heat to loosen it up. With a closed breech, I inserted a dowel/metal rod into the barrel and measured to the end of the muzzle. I came up with approximately 18 3/8".

The barrel is great, a bit heftier than the old barrel on my 1971 Remington Wingmaster. I had a time getting it to slide into place. After a bit of oil there was no problem.

These where all out of stock, waited for email from"CTD". I ordered two of these and they arrived within 7 days just as expected. These are manufactured by Remington. 2 1/2 or 3 inch and model is a 870 12/18" CYL Express Police Barrel. Color/texture matches exactly to my MATTE shotgun.
