Jacketed Handgun Bullets

If all the bullet problems encountered by shooters were tallied, core-jacket separations and jacket concentricity would score right at the top. Speer's patented Hot-Cor process fuses the bullet jacket to the core. As a result, the core of a Speer Hot-Cor bullet will not slip on impact. Unlike some bullets, which are manufactured simply by forcing a cold, sometimes lubricated slug into a jacket. Speer fills the copper jacket with 825°F molten lead, creating a fused bond that is nearly impossible to separate. UNI-COR also enables the manufacturer of a jacket with incredible uniformity resulting in far superior accuracy.

Speer first used UNI-COR technology to produce the world's finest fully-jacketed bullets - our Totally Metal Jacketed, or TMJ. Unlike most FMJ bullets, the TMJ's have no lead exposed at the base. There's no "lip" of jacket, like other bullets, that can be deformed by powder gasses and destroy accuracy. Shooting a competition pistol with a ported compensator? TMJ won't foul ports like conventional FMJ's - our integral base is all copper.

Speer has been building jacketed handgun bullets since the early 1960's, long before most of the competition, so innovation is nothing new to us. UNI-COR is yet another tool for building better bullets the Speer way.
