Atlantic Salt Yellow Sheepfoot Folding Knife -
Spyderco's Rescue knives are long favored by seafarers and the design has since been embraced by rescue workers, EMT's and ranchers anyone cutting around flesh in an emergency. Now available in a rustproof version, the Atlantic Salt is a modified Rescue made with state of the art non rusting H1 steel. H1 steel is precipitation hardened steel containing nitrogen instead of carbon, which cannot rust. The hollow ground blade is available PlainEdged or SpyderEdged with both configurations offering remarkable cutting performance in and around fresh and saltwater. Textured with a Volcano Grip pattern, the molded fiberglass reinforced nylon (FRN) handle comes in black or visible marine yellow, equipped with a reversible titanium pocket clip for right or left handed use. We recommend threading a thong or lanyard cord through the lanyard hole for back up retention around water, where once dropped, a knife is often irretrievable or lost.

Serrated Blade -
A serrated blade has a cutting edge that has many small points of contact with the material being cut. By having less contact area than a smooth blade, the applied force at each point of contact is relatively greater and the points of contact are at a sharper angle to the material being cut.

SpyderEdge -
Spyderco's two step serration pattern of one large and two small serrations. This pattern increases the cutting edge by 24%.

Sheepsfoot Blade -
A sheepsfoot blade has a straight edge and a straight dull back that curves towards the edge at the end. It gives the most control, because the dull back edge is made to be held by fingers. Sheepsfoot look like a sheep's hoof.

Round Hole™ -
Round hole located in the knife blade used for one hand opening and closing of a knife blade.

Lanyard Hole -
This is a hole to fit a lanyard, rope or carrying implement through.

Hollow Ground -
The ground surface of the blade is concave and used to create a fine cutting edge.

Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon (FRN) -
A nylon polymer mixed with glass fiber that is then injected into a mold for making lightweight knife handles.
