As with all sabre brand OC sprays (pepper sprays), this unit is very effective. Sabre is the most effective and hottest brand available. My city's police department, with which I am a volunteer, carries this brand as do major departments such as NYPD. To find out the true stength of OC sprays you have to take into acount both the percentage of OC and the scoville heat units to get the total strength. This is why many inferior brands (like fox labs) appear to be as good or better than sabre. On a personal note, I am a 6' 1'' 200 lbs male involved with law enforcement and the military and consider myself to have above average toughness and pain tolerance. However, a 2 second burst of this spray (even with specific training in handling the effects of OC) caused me extreme pain and had me flushing my face with water, and unable to effectively function, for 1/2 an hour. No matter how determined, tough, or high on drugs your attacker is, Sabre OC spray will incapacitate them.
