| I needed a shovel for my G.O.O.D. bag, and I wanted to find a good surplus one (except American, they're ROTTEN!), but found none. When I saw this, I thought "Glock makes an entrenching tool!?" I thought the whole thing would be made out of their polymer, but no, it's a nice shim of steel. The nut keeps the blade in place (unlike the crummy G.I. ones I used as a Boy Scout), and the handle extends and is secure. As an added attraction, the saw blade fits well inside the blade and can be screwed onto the end of the handle. Instructions and a roomy pouch round out the deal. The pouch itself has well-sewn straps so you can securely secure it on the outside of your pack if you have a MOLLE system, and is fully enclosed in case you want to keep it in a pocket in your pack instead.
Like everything Glock, it is well-made and attractively priced. I'm getting a second one for my pickup, so it can round out the collection of pioneer tools I carry. |
