These are enormus in size and the sound quality is not good. The size makes it a problem shooting any shoulder fired weapon and therefore only good if you are just going to use it on a pistol range. The lights are useless and overall the product struck me as cheap. On the plus side, the directional microphones really work! Great concept but needs to be implemented in a smaller package.

Neat to be able to play MP3/radio. Head/tail lamps are cute, but of questionable value. Amplification of quiet noises such as people at the far end of the line talking is great. Sadly, the hearing protection is garbage. 31dB? Sure, and I have this great bridge I can sell you. With products like this, I wish we had the sort of consumer protection that they have in Britain. This product would be forced off the market until they quoted realistic and provable figures. The actual noise reduction is about the same as a cheapo no-name $10 pair of electronic headphones 0 in other words CRAP. 2 Bullets for the comfort and functions that work. Disappointed - yup! Will I use them when shooting - Nope.

I bought these about 2 yrs ago used them maybe a dozen times. The left side stopped canceling out the gun shot but amplifies it instead. I called the Hy-Skore company and was told there is nothing they can do send them back to CTD. I hate company's that don't stand behind their products.

These are definitely not 31dB NRR like previously stated. I always have to use earplugs under them or my ears will ring like crazy. But I do wear safety glasses that break the seal but other over the ears I've tried that were rated lower NRR seem to block more sound even wearing my safety glasses. But I hate non amplified headphones now.

They are not as quiet as I expected from the NRR. This could be because they compress the loud noises down to 82 but do not completely shut them off (?). I shoot indoors and always seem to get there when the people are shooting magnums or something. So I have started using plugs under them which is good. I like it quiet. biggest drawback is that they are bulky. It's actually hard to fit them in the range box. I bought them because of the audio input. I like to use that. I play the line calls for bullseye practice.

This hearing protector is WEAK in its primary purpose of protecting one's ear's from damage. This hearing protector definitely does not have a Noise Reduction Rating (NNR) of 31db (The Highest Seen on Headsets). The reason why the manufacturer, Hyskore, can get away with a false claim of a 31db NNR for this headset is: There is no enforcement mechanism established, and no Government agency is checking the validity of manufacturer�s data. Neither OSHA, NIOSH or EPA performs a compliance audit check, or forces any less than honest (or should we be polite and call it optimistic?) manufacturer to use honest numbers! I give this headset zero (0) points for its lack of hearing protection. The earcups have no sound absorbing material in them, at all. The earcups only have heavy electrical components in them. That's all that can fit in these already oversized and heavy earcups. (Oh, by the way, EACH EARCUP REQUIRES A PAIR OF AA BATERIES IN THEM so that adds even more weight). I give this headset one (1) point for the engineering of its 6 channel directional-surround-sound. That works. I give this headset one (1) point for the engineering of its SUPERFLUOUS front and back LED headlamps on the headphones. They work. But, this set of Hyskore Ear Protectors fails in the primary function of ear protectors and that is hearing protection. One must wear additional earplugs, when using this headset, to be safe from hearing damage.

I really like these. They are very quiet when shooting and can hear everything when not shooting. The only drawback is their size. The size of the cup makes its hard to see while using a scope. Other than that using them for shooting skeet or hand guns, its great. Other note the led lights work great for packing up camp when it gets dark.

I was hesitant but when ahead and bought one pair of these. I was very impressed. The multiple microphones made picking out the direction of a sound very easy. I could hear normal conversation while wearing them with ease but they block out the sound of gunfire with ease. The included cables for attaching an ipod works well and since one of the included cables has a microphone on it, I have even used these a time or two as a headset for a cordless or cell phone!!! The LED lights are a cool little feature. Five white LEDs on the front and 3 red LEDs on the back and you can turn on either or both lights. I found that the five front LEDs are bright enough to read with while wearing these at night. I ordered a second pair to have an extra on hand. Thanks CTD!

These are some of the best hearing protectors I've used. The ENR is great with the Compression and +85dB setting. They are also excellent for detecting direction of the sound. The cords for a transmittor or music player work fine, but I perferred to put on a radio in the background. I could still hear the music fine but could also still hear others clearly as well. I have never had a problem with the weight but the cups are rather large. The microphones do pick up a lot of ambient noise so I usually have the volume turned down unless I'm trying to hear someone downrange or on the other side of the room. The one big problem I had with these was becuase I could not site down a rifle without knocking the rather large cup off my ear. Other than that they are great for use with a pistol or elevated scope.

I would agree with an excellent dollar value. Works as advertised. I have several electronic hearing protectors and this one is as good as or better than the others I own and have used. The "radio" cord works well with a ham radio pocket transceiver I use, the Alinco Credit Card radio. With a radio the gain was almost too high and the radio volume needs to be turned down to a very low level when plugged into this headset with the included cord. The included cord is a sub-mini tip-ring-sleeve with a mike pod. The mike worked well talking into it quietly. It gives good sense of direction, an issue with some other protectors. The only weakness I could see is durability. I have not been in the woods with this unit yet and wonder how much of a beating and water they will take and remain trouble free, to early to tell. The LED headlamp and tail light seemed silly at first but they would be very handy going out before daylight, very nice with two or more hunters getting into position. For $60 I am very impressed.

For electronic hearing protectors priced at under $100.00, these are a good value. The stereo mikes work correctly, and the noise damping is good. I recommend using the in-ear plugs with them (I use in-ear and muffs as standard always) since you can't get too much protection. I can still hear the music from my walkman just fine with the addition of in-ear plugs and having music as a diversion from the sudden noises that come from other people firing helps my shooting stay consistant as well. Music on the range is a neat bonus. When someone speaks to me, it's no problem, even with the music. I hear them fine. I thought I was being wasteful in spending this much for hearing protection, but don't regret it now. You do want to put them on with the sound down though, the feedback from the mikes does screech a bit until you get them balanced.

The writer who did not like his earmuffs, I have not had a problem and they are comfortable and do their job. On the range, they worked perfect no feedback. No bulky feeling either. DAV MP

I've always wanted some electronic ear muffs and took a chance on these. They are a little bulky and a little heavy BUT.. boy do they rock. I was so, so hesitant to turn up the volume at the indoor range as the gun blasts are 10 times louder than outdoors but they worked and they worked perfectly. I was just astonished how well they stopped all the gunshot noise. I was also very impressed with the 31db NRR. I NEVER buy ear muffs unless they are 31db. BTW, I always wear ear plugs under muffs (I shoot every week and my hearing is too important to damage) and I wore this Electronic ear muffs for 2 hours and never had any issues with the weight. With the ear plugs, the ability to turn up the volume to hear speech was important to me. Also the 6 mics is definitely a nice feature. You can easily tell the direction of speech if someone is talking to you. And.. they were very comfortable indeed. I'm also very impressed that I can order replacement parts including the ear pads if they get worn. I didn't buy them for the lights although they do work.

This product was great until 1 day at the range. There was horrible ringing in the left ear. Also, after about 30 min, they got heavy and cumbersome. THey were comfortable aside from that. Also, the package was missing the cords that were supposed to be included. The lights were cool but, not worth the cost and hassle. I returned them after 1 day at the range.
