A friend told me about this blade and I laughed. I saw it was getting good reviews, so I figured I'd go out on a limb and purchase it. Came in a couple of days and I was impressed when I picked up the box. It has some weight to it. Blade was sharp as sin but only in some places. Few strokes down the honing steel and that was fixed. My only real complaint is the handle is slightly lose at the hilt (if you swing the knife and stop suddenly the handle 'clicks'). All in all, spend the $10.

I purchased one of these in store a few days ago and it is everything everyone has commented and more. It is heavy enough to take large branches, and will last a long long time. You won't be disappointed.

$10...you have got to be kidding me! I read the reviews and was a bit skeptical at first, but went ahead and ordered a couple. They not only got here in two days, but they were a LOT nicer than I expected! They feel really solid in the hand, a nice weight. The edge was descent, a few licks with a sharpening stone and I was in business! I have no doubt that it could easily take care of a small tree, wood for a campfire, or whatever you need to get done. Cuts through paper quite easily too! So, nuff said, buy one!

I received my knife and was pleased with the value for the money. I've already used it to take the bark off a hickory pole to make a hiking pole. It stripped and cut great, and the handle was comfortable all during the work. I'd reccomend it for rough work around the house or campsite.

amazing product

I just got the item listed today, and boy am I pleased. its just as described, the handle is really well fixed to the blade, and the sheath is accually a sheath, not just some pieces of nylon sewn together! Im so happy with this, I plan to but some of the other knife styles in the future!

For the price

For the price, this knife will do the job. The only thing i disliked was the nylon sheath it is a little too loose for my likeing. I will definately be buying more on my next order.

Great knife if you like the out doors and want something to clear shooting lanes/ chop bones / ligaments, this is it. Not the prettiest or lightest, but its sharp and heavy and has a nice concave blade that you can get some swing into.

Buy it!

For the $ this is a very good product. Heavy steel with a parkerized finish. The sheath is a little on the light side but well made...I indend to buy a 2nd on my next order.

I had been thinking about ordering one of these for a while, and finally got two of them. I am super impressed. The nylon sheath is very well made and rivited with a big loop to fit on almost any pistol belt. Nice little sharpening stone is on the sheath, too. The blade is think and would make either a great survival tool or weapon if stuck in the woods. This is not a perfectly balanced blade because there is so much more weight towards the tip, but I think the extra heft of the blade makes it a fair "trade-off". The black coating on the blade is thick and I don't think will wear off easily. This is one of the best values I have gotten in mail order in a long time. I would like to thank "CTD" for making this item available.

Wow sweet!

Buy 4 and give them to your friends. The sturdiest knife I've owned. Did I mention you can throw it, and chop a tree down and scar the crap out of just about anyone. Thats not a knife, THIS IS A KNIFE!!! Great grip and thick blade. $10.00??????? WHAAAAAT?

Not so sharp

I purchaseed one of these knives from a different store than CTD, but it is thesame thing. It is great for cutting like a hatchet or a machete, but a little small. I could not put a great edge on it because it was so curved and I use a flat wetstone. I would recommend a ceramic rod or one of the newer carbide sharpeners for this. However, it recieves four stars for its durability and its feel in the hand, but it sort of sucks that is is hard to sharpen.

Awsome

When i bought this knife i thought the blade would actuly be curved but it was just a straight blade with a sharpening stone. As luck would have it i had bought a curved blade from the flee market and wanted a straight blade insted so sweet. The problem i got with the curved blade i had bought was if the shielth is attached shielth was being pulled on as well as the knife the big part would get stuck in the shielth and not budge, so if u needed to get the knife off your belt in a hurry u are kinda screwed enless u hold the shielth with your other hand and pull it out. The blade came very sharp and the shielth had a bilt in sharpening stone holed and the stone, it was also very well made.

great knife at a great price!

this knife outdid my expectations! not only is it everything i expected, its that and then some! The blade is thick, and it has a good firm feel to it. the sheath is actually really well made, not what you would expect from a made in china knife. what gets it five bullets instead of four is the cool little sharpening blade that comes attached with the sheath in a hard plastic sectional attached to the sheath. the only downside to this knife is that its to heavy to take backpacking, "my original intentions for its use"
