The only bad thing about this product is the sheath, like many have said. I wish it had a cover because I wind up accidentally scratching myself w/ the open ends.

Pretty neat. The sheath is about worthless, except for just messing around, but pretty good product for the price.

ok i understand people who dont know what there doing but doesn't mean you have to be condescending theres a difference in explaining what their doing wrong and just calling stupid, and if you want to get technical about it lets point out your mistakes "Metal weapons are meant for flesh, not wood" but later you say "and practicing your skills with another person... USE WOOD or foam padded practice weapons" so make up your mind about what your going to say before you say it. everyone knows that throwing weapons are meant for flesh but your going to go into a public place and start slinging knives at someone. So you have to practice somewhere and on something thats going to keep you and the people around you safe. ok im done but all around kik ass spikes!!!! I recommend them highly but dont practice in high grass because they are small and you will lose them

these good hard steel took a little adjusting to get the weighit to throw righit but after all a good wepon for defense i recomend useing a card boed box or a foam bevrage cooler with a large peice of fruit in side to see the puncture damaged fromit blow a well rounded wepon for defence . i recomend it

To the guy at the bottom who said he cannot stick these in a pine board, i have a question i would like to ask him. Are you we tall did? These are made for human flesh, not wood. However, you can purchase some throwing knives that will stiuck into the wood you are using. These are rounded and have rounded points as you can see from the picture, so they will be harder to stick into the wood. A knife, or one of the tomahawks they sell on here for 14 dollars will stick into wood fine. That is because the knifes and hawks have flat edges and will fit in with the grain of the wood. So please, think before you say something. Even a we talled whould know that round points wont stick in would as well as flat points.

so the last guy...he was right...don't talk unless you have experince...I'm not a master but I am very good at sticking a assasins dirk I inherited from my father into a wooden wall while running by it pretty fast...if you can do that efficiently you can stick anything while standing still...First of all I can tell just by looking at them that these spikes would be very good at sticking. I've made spikes of my own based on a different shape but never the less they're straight and have point...hence that should be easy to stick into anything... wood and flesh alike...although it takes a significant amount of force to stick something like spikes into walls.

People, if you have no experience with throwing, then don't even comment. An effective thrown weapon is based on the weight of the weapon, the style of the weapon, the technique you use to throw it, the amount of effort you use to throw, and the distance of your target. In a real-time situation where you have to use them for defense, practicing at a set distance won't do you any good, so shut up about having distance down to a science. What you need to practice is how much effort you put in to it and how you throw it at random distances. That is the only way to know how much effort you need for such distance. And since you obviously don't know, there is in deed a way to throw a weapon so that it doesn't "flip". Also, for the "stick" factor... study a subject called "physics". Metal weapons are meant for flesh, not wood or cinder blocks. If you want to practice hacking up wood, use and ax, for concrete use a war hammer... and practicing your skills with another person... use wood or foam padded practice weapons. There is a major lack of common sense abound and it seems to be contagious. You want to learn to throw these spikes? work on your technique with a foam archery block. And then if they still don't stick, you can rest assured that it's user error. Nothing wrong with a steel or iron throwing spike if it's straight.

It is also important to take into account the hardness of the target. It is obvious you will never stick these spikes into a sheet of metal, and you could probably lodge one in a block of Jell-O sideways with little difficulty. the purchaser who complains about not being able to stick them into wooden boards should attempt to force one into the board to gauge the difficulty, you have to hit point on with at least that amount of energy. Remember, weapons like this are designed to penetrate flesh, not wood. you may be better off using a cardboard target, or some produce like a watermellon or pumpkin.

In my last review I criticized yor review of the throwing spikes. The techniques that you said you used were most likely the different hand positions that are possible. None af these are techniques, and do not affect preformance, except you must change the distance from the target, to compensate for the changed rotation count. As for changing distances, knife throwing must be accurate to the centimeter, otherwise the knife, tomahawk, axe, or other throwing weapon will not complete enough rotations to "stick." You need to have a distance chart in order to throw effectively, along with the skills that come with practice and experience, you may say that this product does not work well, but even a disk from a computer hard drive can serve as an effective weapon.

How could you say that these are horrible when obviously you have no technique! If you expect to be able to throw any knife or spike, it takes time practice and intelligence. Excellent spikes are nothing without an excellent thrower.

What a disappointment. They look cool but getting them to actually stick appears to be something short of a miracle. Aside from the reality that as a point they disappear rather easily (lost one in the grass in the first 5 mins) when the bounch off their target and then stick in the grass... sometimes. I was throwing them at a pine board (several that actually formed a wall really) and after no less than 50 throws using different techniques and distances I was able to get them to stick 2 times. Usually they just bounced off the boards. There are some good throwing knives, etc out there but this is not one of them. Save your money for a real thrower.
