I own close to a dozen authentic KHUKURI and this one is just a 'look like' knife. While it does have the same basic shape as a Khukuri, it is nothing close to the real thing. If you're looking for a useable camp knife, I recommend that you do NOT get this one. It will perform poorly and leave you in the lurch.
However, if you merely wish to delight a grandson with something that will look exotic and not cost much....this will probably work.
Not what I expected

From past experience with inexpensive kukri's I was expecting a stout and somewhat sloppy knife. This one is petite, and too small in the grip for my tastes, but would be just the right fit for my teenage nephew (who will most likely permanently commandeer it this weekend). It is actually a nicely finished product; stainless steel blade and plastic handle, and a well put together sheath. The itty-bitty knives are even clean and sharp. Not the sturdy knock around I was looking for, but I think I might keep it around the house just because it looks snazzy.

the name for this blade is not correct. it is actually the officer's model kukri. it was carried by the British Officers in the Gurkah Regiments.
