Steel is 440 Stainless, it's solid. Sheath is nicer on this one than on the Double set, but the Double set has nicer blades (pointed). Wrapping will slide real quick. Handle is plastic, wrapping cord is basically a shoe lace. Blade seems solid, should be good for hacking at stuff, great kids' toy for hacking at trees/posts. Not too sharp, but still could cut someone. Decent tool, not a weapon.

Good buy for only $5. The steel seems to be good, and the sheath is good (although the shoulder strap is useless in my opinion). The only complaint that I had was the cord wrapping on the handle would slide back and forth, but that was easily fixed by adding another layer of cord wrap. It easily chops through cardboard boxes, underbrush, and smaller tree branches.

This is a great tool. I have used this sword as a pack sword for about three years, hunting, fishing, and camping. It cuts easily through grass, vines brush and anything else that is in your way. This is one tool you do not want to be without.
