| This sucker throws a blinding stream of sparks at any altitude, even when it's wet. This shower of sparks is powerful enough to ignite a cigarette without having to take a drag.
The blast match is more effective at burning things than any disposable or 'high performance' lighter- it's more like a MAP gas torch! Yet this fits in your pocket, is unaffected by environmental extremes, and it seems like it would take a lifetime to wear out.
It does take a little more dexterity to operate than I had thought. The operator has to apply pressure to a plastic button which holds the steel when operating the spring-loaded plunger.
I highly recommend it. I remember a 4x4 camping trip in the rockies when it hit 40 below. Our zippos, BICS, camp stoves, and trucks were all rendered useless. Only by using the blast match to light some stoves, and start a few fires were we able to warm up, make breakfast, and get the trucks to turn over.
It's pricey but it is the best fire starting tool this pyro has ever seen!!!! |
