This is a great mount! Nice and cheap price, but not cheap quality! I highly recommend this mount to anyone looking for a cheap and easy way to mount a flashlight to their AR!

Its ok if you keep your ar stock for use of a tac light and or laser...Has a little weight to it and think your better off with quad rail system....I guess it just depends on the needs of the operator...Easy to install though.....AA product

worth it

This is worth every penny. I had one on my M4 the entire time I was in Iraq. It was great for a flashlight and a small laser. It realy made the diffrence by getting rid of the shadow, and made "hip fire" room clearing a breeze.

great stuff

I have been buying these to equip all my ARs that have flat top recievers, a total of 7, on several different brands. Of all these, there was only one loose combination. I don't know if the tower is small or the rail is large. Anyway, a few layers of sliced cokecan metal-fits perfectly. Great for mounting just a flashlight like I do. Cmbined with an Aimpoint-great hog setup.

Great Buy!

This inexpensive tower mount is excellent. I had it out of the box and installed in less than 5 minutes. I've got a flashlight attachted to it, and it still allows the use of iron sights, scope or a red dot. Great product!

bought it to mount a tac light to my Classic Army M16-A4. didnt want to spend the money for a whole rail system. It mounted with out any smithing to the sight, and is a great buy.

Great price - bad idea

Am not faulting CTD, they just sell these. Heat transfer is the problem with mounts near the barrel. Heat will disrupt the electronics (if you're lucky you just lose battery function) and heat can damage the circuitry in various gadgets also.

For the money, this mount just cannot be beat. The only other setup would be a quad-rail mount, but why spend 100+ dollars when you can get a similiar result for a fraction? The mount is very stable, very lightweight, and if it losens up an allen wrench will quickly fix that. I have had one installed on my AR for nearly 7 months and it hasnt moved a bit (and my AR is one of my normal guns I use--thousands of rounds through it). I highly recommend getting this, and the removable rails if you want a quad-rail like setup. And depending on your application, you may want to look at a long pictinny riser that will add 5" of rail space onto any pictanny rail you mount it on.

Bought these rails from my DPMS classic, and they fit great. The fitting is very tight and they look good. Much more cost efficient alternative to adding a quad rail, especially since i am just using it for a light and maybe a laser. Overall great product and serves its purpose.

Bad idea.

This mount is actually decently made, but in my opinion a VERY bad idea to mount items to your front sight. The more stuff you have protruding from your fsb, the more likely for it to get whacked. Mount your gadgets to your plastic handguards. They are designed to be broken and replaced for $6.

A good mount. places the light in the proper 1o'clock position on the gun. Very reasonable price. I was able to put a surefire weapon light on my m-4 for 100 dollars thanks to this mount.

This is a great product! I have seen it at other police supply shops for over $60 bucks. This is a great deal. Easy to add a light to your weapon. The only concern I have is the light focuses most of the light to which ever side it is mounted on. It does not put the center of the light in the center of the sights. For the money this is a great product!!

I didn't want to pay $300 dollars for a rail system that I would only attach a light to, so this was my alternative. It works really well, very tight mount, doesn't move at all, no shifting, and looks really strong and exceptionally well made. Great price too!!!

This is an awesome product. I didn't want to shell out the money for a good quad rail hand guard setup from surefire, so this made for a great alternative. The rail mounts easily, and so far I've not had any problems with it coming loose (and don't see any reason to anticipate any either). The rails run almost parallel with the barrel, so you can pretty much point whatever you have mounted (light or laser) at what you want to shoot and squeeze without using your sights. Also, the rails were incredibly easy to install; they set up even came with an allen wrench.

I needed something simple, yet effective for one of my AR's to mount a flashlight. This is the product! It was very easy to install and a smooth way for my tactical light. I recommend it for anyone who wants a simple and effective way to install an accessory on their AR.
