Having ordered a can of the Rom. ammo I was quick to range test it and was pleasently surprised. This stuff fires dependably , shoots flat and hits hard on the receiving end of flight. The strippers need work as they exibit a little rust but the ammo itself is of a high standard and combat grade ball. I intend to buy more and reccomend it to and Mauser affectionado. P.S. It burns dirty but that is as it should be.

Ammo looks great. Clean with no corrosion nor moisture. Got for my Yugo 24/47 and haven't had chance to shoot yet. Down side ... getting into the cans is a bear! They need a can opener

i purchased some of this romanian surplus about three weeks ago and just yesterday finally got to go down to the bottom fields and shoot. my first impressions of the ammos quality were good. it was clean, with no signs of moisture damage. The stripper clips were a bit on the stiff side but a good shot of 3in1 oil on the grooves of the steel cases made my next clip a breeze to push in. i shoot open sights at 125 yards and use a spotting scope to look downrange. i fired 5 rounds out of my vz 24 czech mauser and when i looked through the scope i was amazed. i could see the 5 distinct holes in my target no more than 2-3 inches apart at any point, with three of the 5 holes touching each other. the next 5 rounds did the same thing on a new target. this ammo consistently held a 3 inch grouping of 5 rounds per time throughout the 60 rounds i fired yesterday. i didnt have a single misfire or jam. im back today to buy another two tuna cans of it.

I test fired my 24 47 Yugo Mauser with this ammo. Out of 15 shots fired, only one required a double strike. I was suprised at how accurate the Rifle was with this stuff. This Ammo is Corrosive, so clean your rifle after shooting. I would recomend this Ammo to anyone wanting to do some target shooting.

Wow i had my eye's on this for a while. I am glad i got it. It is very clean ammo. When you open the can it reeks of lacquer like the stuff is factory fresh. It sucks to open the can but you cant go wrong. This is the best buy anywhere on 8mm. I hope they never sell out.

This ammo is wonderful, cheap, and easy to cycle in the action. You might have problems loading the rifle with a stripper clip, but the strippers are a little rusty and need to be lubed up since they've been stored for so long. A little CLP on the bases of the rounds works wonders. Have fun and shoot safe!

Joe when loading the ammo. Try lifting up on the bullet tip of the top round while pushing down on the brass close to the stripper clip. It will load much easier. Thats how I do it in my K98

This ammunition is very accurate out of my Mauser 98, as well as my buddy's Mauser. This is a good value for your ammo buying dollar. The clips on the other hand are not very good. Be prepared to use better quality clips, or remove the ammo from these and load one round at a time.

WOW!!! Recieved in 3 days, and best shipping rate I have had in a while. Really nice & clean. You could hear the vacuum seal when opening. This ammo is very accurate & no misfires out of any I have plinked with so far. A milk jug of water was no problem at 100Yds. with iron sights. Not bad for a girl HUH! My Grandpa would be proud.

Awesome ammo at an unbeatable price...500 plus rounds fired and not one FTF nor jam in M48. Yeah its corrosive but milsurp ammo usually is...you should clean your old rifle after shooting anyways so who cares? As with every order I make, got here in 2 days...CTD rocks!

This Spam can of 8MM ammo was my first purchase from CTD and they now have a loyal customer. Here is the brass tacks: You can spend $1.25 a round for a pretty brass casing and a cute box with a "name" brand on it; or you can get 340 rounds of bad a** ammo for 80 bucks! This stuff is accurate, I mean dead on at 200 yards. I was shooting 1.5" groups with iron sights out of my Yugo M-48A. The Spam can was a little tricky to open up, but a screwdriver and hammer will do the trick. I've gone through about half of the can so far, not a single misfire. Make sure you clean your weapon as soon as you return from the range, this stuff is really dirty. What do you expect for $0.24 a round? Great product CTD!!

This may be the best out there -next to German but without the guilt- and very accurate. I found it clean, but I'm used to having to clean my M4 afer using Military Rounds in the Army and that was DIRTY. My Can came with the Tool and had it open in Secs when I wanted to Shoot. Very nice for being 30-40 Years old now. I want more.

This ammo is DIRTY!!! I mean very dirty. It took me over an hour just cleaning the bore a few days ago, and that was using some harsh cleaner. Also, I have run across some rounds that required double primer strikes. No worries, just recock the weapon and pull trigger again. What this ammo really is, though, is accurate (out of my rifle). I'm getting 2 moa with iron sights and surplus ammo. That's not exaggerated, that's real. 2" at 200 yards. I'm very happy. Oh, yeah. The ammo is pretty hot too. It penetrates quite well. Buy it. It's good stuff.

Shoots great in my Yugo 24/47. Penetrates 1/4 and 3/8" steel. ALMOST penetrates 1/2". Also went through 5 phone books no problem. A .357 mag could only penetrate 2.

I've had some misfires with this ammo... it's not a huge deal though, it is what it is. The necks have a tendency to crack upon firing on occasion, but that's actually quiet common with steel cased mil-surp ammo. It darn sure penetrates quiet well, though. 14" of hardwood barely slows it down. I haven't tried anything steel yet, but I have some old brake rotors just for that. One thing that is surprising... I'm getting close to 2 moa with this ammo. That's about as good as I'm gonna get with Mauser iron sights anyway, so I'm very happy with the accuracy.

This ammo is great stuff! This Romanian surplus 8mm is just about the best and cheapest surplus stuff going now and Cheaper Than Dirt has the best price on it. The brass-cased Yugoslavian 8mm you see elsewhere has some issues such as in some batches the primers were too recessed and will fail to fire in some rifles because of this. This Romanian stuff is top notch though. I’ve fired a whole crate of 720 rounds (same ammo just without stripper clips) through my 1919a4 without one stoppage. (Except for running out of belt) ;). The cases are lacquered though so if you have an old rifle with a rough chamber or are running it through a full auto just remember to clean the chamber afterwards. My favorite thing about this ammo is when you shoot it at night the soft steel core will shower bright orange sparks when you hit hard surfaces like rocks or flat metal targets.

This ammunition has a 154.2 grain copper-coated steel boat-tail bullet in a steel case with corrosive priming and 56.6 grains of graphite coated stick powder. In my M43 Spanish mauser it holds an 8-ring at 200 yards on an SR-C target. Pulling the powder and bullets (an activity not to be tried by beginners) and loading them to the original length over CCI SR primers in brass cases formed from LC 30-06 cases, brought that group down so that it held a 9-ring. As is, this is good practice ammunition; with some work, it can compare to ammunition fabricated from far more expensive commercial components.

It shoots great, I have had no issues. Those who have had issues opening these tins, this is what I do, and I have opened a few. Just take an air or pneumatic grinder to the lip. As you go you will see the seperation of the lid and the tub. The solder will losen in the corners and it pops right off. It takes longer to dig out the grinder and plug it in than it does to do it. Plus the tub stays in good shape and can be used for all sorts of stuff.

I have shot more that onehalf of a can an only one bullet primer didnot go off on the first fire but the second time shot right off. These bullets shot just fine out of my 8mm yugo rifle. For the price a great deal. And you should clean your firearm after any bullets you shoot out of it in my opinon.

This is very good ammunition. High quality and packs one hell of a wollop. It is corrosive, but if you clean it you are good to go. Don't fire a hundred rounds and then put it back in your safe for 5 or 6 years and it won't eat the metal parts off your rifle. The spam can is hard as hell to open though. Wish it came with some sort of opener!

This is very good ammo with the best clips I have seen. I miked the bullets at .321. a recovered steal penetrator miked at 6mm. I'm not a big fan of steal cased ammo but it didn't cause any trouble. I didn't get a can opener with my ammo, witch was a little disappointing. I was impressed with the projectiles penetration. At 75 yards, I got clean holes in the hub of an f-450 brake rotor, and clean penetration through the first half of the double walled brake surface area. For comparison, I tested this ammo against a friends .25-06. The .25-06 will penetrate a 1/4 inch plow disk with factory hollow points, witch .308 .30-06 and stranded 8mm will not. The .25-06 barley dented the brake rotor, and this ammo turned it into Swiss cheese.

Non corrosive? This ammo is without a doubt, corrosive as is most com bloc ammo of this era. However it's no biggie, just clean your weapon properly as soon as you can. The Romanian is good stuff, bullets are .321 in diameter, is loaded to about 2500 FPS. Which means you can use it in your Gew 88 rifle providing your bore's grooves slug to .320 or bigger. This is about the lightest loaded ammo out there for 8mm, in the surplus world that is.

This is awesome ammo at a truly awesome price, especially in these....uncertain days for the U.S. gun trade. The clips are high quality, not some second rate sks style but instead real nice looking. As the other guy said, these are of course corrosive but that is irrelevant to the value here.
