Universial Non Miltary Carbine Not So Good

Well I had bought 100 Rounds. I am shoting a 1970's Universail 30 carbine. And had nothing but problems. Now this was my Dad's gun and he had never shot it. So I Really do not know how well a old Non Military 30 Carbine should funtion normally. But I had 10 rounds out of the box of 50 not fire. The primers were dented but did not fire! And We had other feeding problems. The original clip that came with the gun was plastic and is worthles. But when using a metal military clip it did funtion a little better, but still had misfires. This is the second brand of ammo used. The other brand did funtion better but the primers were blown out. So it could be the gun or Maybe the Ammo. But I will not try this brand any more!

Decent ammo

I Bought 50 rounds to try out. Like other review I was a bit nervous. The Ammo was all stamped TOP Brass and was in great shape. I had no problems with 50 rounds. I've found FMJ loads easier than the cheaper soft points so I will be buying more of this.

good ammo great price

I tried this ammo, and was a bit skeptical after reading other reviews. I was very pleased. It fired a little dirty, but had 0 misfires in 100 rounds. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good round for target practice. I am using it in and original M1A1 carbine.

I bought several boxes of BVAV 30 Carbine 110 gr FMJ. While shooting My Plainfield I had 10 Misfires in one box. the primers were hit but no fire. I Called and found out they use a different primer with this ammo. It has a harder primer designed strictly for the Military Carbines. I bought a Winchester and had no problems with this military version. It just seemed a little dirty to me, also had a rather large muzzle flash.

Unsafe Ammo...

BVAC appears to buy new casings from multiple sources. One box, the casings are headstamped A P .30 Carbine (Armscorp, Philippenes), another, TOP BRASS .30 Carbine (Scharch Mfg in CO). Those with the A P mark, most of the primers are not seated properly with the primer protruding from the casing (slamfire danger). While firing one seated properly, the rear of the casing separated from the rest of the casing. Unk if blown or if extracted. Casing minus bottom stuck in chamber. Unknown whose casing it was as headstamp could not be found. Spent casings show no bulge at rear to indicate chamber problem. Highly recommend against using this ammo.
