Good ammo, can't beat it for the price. Ordered 100 rounds and then 200. Shoots thru my FEG PA-63 great.

I burned through most of 2 boxes with 0 failures in my 1993 Russian commercial Mak. I usually hand load for this round with hornaday HP bullets. The only failures I've had in this gun were weak powder loads on my hand loads.

I HAVE PURCHASED A LOTS OF AMMO FOR THE MAKAROV. THIS IS BY FAR THE MOST INEXPENSIVE AMMO ON THE MARKET TODAY IN SMALL QUANTITIES. THE HP AMMO ROUNDS RECOVERED AT THE RANGE SHOWS GOOD EXPANTION AND A SMALL AMOUNT OF PEELBACK. I WOULD SUGGEST THE HP AMMO FOR HOME PROTECTION.

this ammo is great at close range. i mean, really close. at 15yds out accuracy starts to take a big hit. it's also magnetic so some indoor ranges may have a problem with it. it's ok in a pinch, but i wouldn't stake too much on it.

Good Practice , Bad Defense

Good economical practice ammo, the exposed lead helps to cut down on bounce- backs. I have had failures to expand during water testing. Not a good thing. Typical results with the batch that I tested: NO core expansion. Some peeling back and fragmentation of the jacket. Shoots thru 3 (1 gallon) water jugs. Stopped by hanging towels after that. Maybe it was just a bad batch , but that's what happened. 5 Bullets as practice ammo. 2 Bullets as defense ammo ( maybe a little better than FMJ, for sure better than begging for mercy.) Your mileage more vary.

This ammo works fine in my 9x18 pistols. Everyone I know uses it for practice and defense. It is the most common ammo in use for 9x18's.
