This is just about the only ammo that will cycle in my S&W AR.

I got this ammo confused with a different one. These rounds have a lighter slug than the standard military ball round. These round do, however, out shoot most rounds out there. Good accuracy and they burn very clean. For the money, they are tough to beat.

As a former Marine this is as good as it gets. These rounds punch holes through car doors, and other targets much better than any civilian (non premium) ammo I've ever shot. Just like the ball ammo used in the military. Great round at a great price, especially considering current ammo prices.

This is really good stuff and you can tell it is good ammo when it fires and burns really clean and fires very well and chambers very well...For the price you can either target pratice with it or have it on hand for the zombie attack!!!

Not Bad

Lake Cities made this stuff, but it's reliable. Equal to the old GI M193 ball. Brass looked like well cleaned (shiny), once fired, and headstamps were LC 07. If you need 55gr. ball ammo on strippers, at a fair price, can't go wrong with this stuff.

GREAT AMMO!

GREAT AMMO and FAST DELIVERY! The stripper clips made loading the 30-round AR mags a breeze with the Lulu loader. And the clips are in great shape. You can reuse them for fast loading of .223 ammo. Went to the range with my S&W M&P15 (1:9 twist) and these rounds performed fantastically. I may buy more before they're gone.

This ammo is fantastic. Went to the range over memorial day weekend and this ammo through my RockRiver AR-15 was fantastic. The quality of the ammo is excellent and already loaded on stripper clips make reloading a piece of cake. They are also re-usable and in mint condition.

Great Ammo! Great Price! And on stripper clips already. Buy it while you can. And remember AR's are wet guns. Keep them cleaned and lubed guys, buy this stuff and go have some fun.

Best plinking ammo around works great in my STAG. Great price these days for 5.56 ammo.

Brass is fine

The brass is fine. The discoloration comes from the annealing process that hardens the brass after it's been worked. Commercial ammo gets cleaned and polished before loading. Military ammo does not need this extra step. This ammo works fine, it has not been stored incorrectly, nor is it seconds. This is bulk ammo that has been repackaged, and it may get some very small dings from the other cases.

This is good ammo. I had my bushy out to the range for comparison between this ammo and the PMC, Federal (bulk), and Remington UMC (all of them 55gr FMJ). It goes bang every time and hits what I aim at. Then again, they all did, even on the other end of the range (330 yds).At this price, it ain't exactly plinking ammo, but the way prices are going, it doesn't hurt too bad to plink with it, either. The stripper clips make reloading at the range a whole lot quicker, and you can save them and re-use them. The stripper clips I've purchased elsewhere tend to be problematic, but the ones this ammo is loaded on all worked fine.

The description states that it is current and original. I can believe it is orginal but current it's not. Looks as if it has been stored somewhere for years. Has signs of discoloration and minor rust. I have some 308 made in the 70's and it (308) doesn't look as badly as this 5.56. Haven't shot it yet, afraid to waste it. With what's running the country, may need it for real later on.

Looks like decent ammo. But this ammo is repackaged with plastic bags over opened boxes. The brass looks rough and has dings. Probably 2nd quality ammo being marketed as first quality. The cheaper lake city, or american eagle xm 193 is probably a better buy for the same quality.

Shipment arrived pretty quick, product arrived in good condition. Brass is a bit dirty, either from long-term storage under wrong conditions, or from dirty production line. Don't get me wrong, it cycles thru the rifle fine, just doesn't 'look' new. Have yet to compare accuracy with other cartridge manufacturers, but I will post another review then. Until then, four bullets is my rating.

These rounds are great for an M-16/AR-15 style rifle if it has the correct rifle twist. The military abandoned these 55 grain bullets for the heavier 62 grain NATO ball (M855). These 55 grain bullets will not be accurate at 300+ yards, and yes you can use an M-16 to nit targets to 1,000 yards. It just takes knowledge of the ammo, rifle and marksmanship. If you are shooting at small game this round will work just fine. I prefer 62 grain or heavier. not bad for plinking though.

Works as good as I hoped

Runs good in my Armalite. 1.5 MOA, no funny things with feeding, ejection or case condition. Real handy having them already on the stippers.
