Tracer Ammo, 05/11/2008 |
| Reviewer: Aaron |
| I have shot a lot of tracer ammo over my 11 years in the Army. One thing I have found was that some Lots of tracer don't have a visible burn until several meters out of the bore. If you shoot these at too close of a range you may not see anything happen. Most are best visible at better than 50 meters. |
No fireworks, 04/29/2008 |

| Fired a few of these rounds into a dirt mound at about 200yards, none lit up in flight, one lit up in the dirt mound. You'd be better off sticking bottle rockets in your barrel for the effect. |
Ammo FIRES but doesnt light, 04/28/2008 |

| Bought a bunch of this stuff to plink around at dusk to see kewl tracer trails, and alas, I have to load a full clip up with JUST TRACERS to even see 1 or 2 of them go off.
Ammo works just fine if you remove the TRACER aspect of it. Very pricey for just plinkin ammo, which is all this stuff is really good for.
Total after firing 115 shots, only 29 lit up, less than 25%. |
Probably won't ignite, 04/04/2008 |

| The tracing compound in these M196 tracers goes bad over time (storage) and it's no surprise that most don't ignite..... the M856 61.8 Grain tracers shouldn't go bad though..... if U get these they will fire fine, but may not ignite more than 20% of the time! |
