5.56 Nato (5.56x45mm), Lake City M855, 62 Grain Steel Penetrator Lead Core Full Metal Jacket Bullet. 20 Round Box.

20 Rounds of a special lot of military loaded ammunition, some of the boxes have a misprint and state M885, the lot is mixed with misprint boxes, this is the reason we were able to obtain this special lot of M855, SS109 ammunition.

Lake City 5.56 Ammo is the best 5.56 Military ammo manufactured. This the original US Military Lake City Arsenal M855 SS109 Penetrator ammo. 62 grain with steel tipped penatrating core for combat use, firing at 3,025 f.p.s. very scarce and limited supplies, 20 round boxes with US Markings. This is identical to the ammo being used right now in Iraq by US troops.

Price is per 20 round box. Ammo can not ship air.

I shoot this Ammunition from my Colt AR-15 HBAR MT Rifle only occasionally to save it. I've nearly cut Steel Re-bar in two with this stuff at 50 yds. (I put a Detachable Scope on my Rifle) Anyone with experience cutting Re-Bar can attest to it's hardness and this stuff slices right through it like Butter, consistently! CTD has the Best price I've seen, so if you want to do some serious cheese making this is your stuff... it's Military grade and as good as you can get. Shoot safe. Semper Fi!

Just like all military ammo they have defects. Some are slightly dinged or dented in the casing and a few have a little black sticky stuff like grease or a glue. Other than that it’s a good deal I think. I haven't shot them yet but they appear to all be better then what I've been issued by the army in the past. I personally won't hesitate to put any of them through my rifle but it’s always a smart idea to inspect your ammo when coming from a source like this. I wouldn't expect competition accuracy out of them but that’s not why I bought them. Enjoy

This ammunition came marked on the box Lake City 855 5.56. the bottom of the rounds are marked LC, NATO stamp, 08. I inspected every round of the 100 I ordered. 6 have dents that made me check twice. I believe that my LWRC M6A4 will fire them just fine. All rounds are typical Lake City, un-tumbled (dirty)brass, with chipping green tip paint. No frills at this price. For some reason, a clean car seems to drive better. I think that it is the same way with a shinny round.

I was nervous whether this stuff would work in my rifle. What I learned is that if your gun is 5.56, you are good. If your gun is .223 caliber you are good. If your gun is .223 remington DO NOT use it. My Mini 14 loved it and it was fun to see it does go through 3/8'' mild steel. I think you could kill an elephant with this stuff if you aimed for the brain.
