Good product. Fit tightly to begin with. The shims werent needed.

I installed this on my M70AB2 underfolder AK. It went on with no problems until I decided to close the underfolder. It wouldn't snap into place *as other reviewers mentioned*. I decided to use a dremel and start shaving metal until it fit. I had to shave the arms of the underfolder right where they hit the lower rail on this handguard. I could have shaved the rail itself but then I would have had shiny silver metal showing on a black rail. I decided to shave the underfolder itself to make it fit. After about 2 hours of shaving a little off here and there I finally got it to work. I have to slam it shut for it to lock in place but I was TIRED of using the dremel. So 4 bullets because of the amount of work it took to have the gun functioning properly. If UTG would have made this handguard missing the last two notches on the bottom rail it would have fit perfect the first time with no problems. This would have made it more compatible with the M70 underfolder along with other M70 variants. All-in-all I am happy with my purchase. I think I breathed in too much metal dust last night. Other than that we are good.

They fit just right on my Yugo, but they get hot and make the front end heavy. A forgrip will help with the heat and it a must have. The stock won't lock closed but I'd rather have it that way because it is easier and quicker to get out when a sling is attached.
