Tapco rocks, you have to file on some of their products but It's worth it. This one is light and feels great. I've shot it many times with no issue. Buy this one and enjoy.

This is not for a real AK rifle. I sent the first one back to Tapco but the replacement did the same thing. The top cover plate will not stay in place. It falls in the dirt every time the rifle is fired. It is a Waste of money. Check other reviews on this thing and you will see it’s not just me. Buy something else.

I have used the Tapco Galil handguard on every one of my ak47"s and there is none better. With AK-47s no two are alike. This handguard has to be fitted to fit perfectly. A file? A dremel? Sandpaper maybe? You don't have to use the top part of the guard, you can leave your gas tube just like it is and only use the bottom part.

The stock works wonderfully. However, this forearm part is not manufactured to work with all Kalashnikov systems. I have an SA-85, which is and always has been a flawless shooter. When I switched out the forearms, the new one would not seat properly, there is too much material in the front of the handguard to close the retaining latch. I forced it in, but when I took it to the range, the vibration of firing shook it loose. As many other have already pointed out, I will have to Dremel it down, and then it should be fine. But what a pain.

Do not buy this item. The forward keeper on the barrel was so tight I could not get it closed, the rear tab was way too thick, and the top vented cover will not stay in place. All in all this is a waste of money. I spent the extra $$$ and got a vented metal foregrip instead.

Like most other reviewers it took me some time to fit the handguard to my WASR-10. Once I got it in place it was a very snug fit (this does make it difficult to remove the gas tube). I think most users will have only minimal trouble fitting this to their rifle.

Worked excellent on my Romainian 47 although the top vent does not set real securely.

I bought this for my Romanian WASR-10/63. I had some difficulty installing it. Specifically, It was a really tight fit, which made it somewhat difficult to engage the slide locking lever for the lower handguard. Also, I had to dremel out a portion of the front end of the handguard in order to allow my gas tube to lever into place. In the end it looks great and feels nice. This is a worthy replacement to my old wood furniture.

This fit perfectly on my WASR 10 AK-47. The only part I had trouble with was removing the old handguard, it was on really tight. Once that was done, the Tapco Galil went right on and fit great with no needed modifications.

I got this not thinking that the carry handle on my RPK would cause problems. I spent about 20 minutes with my Dremel cutting the notch for the handle, that solved that problem. The other problem was where it fits into the receiver at the bottom. It fit into that okay, I just couldn't get the latch on the handguard retainer to close. The handguard was just a little too long. I fixed this by Dremeling the bottom of the handguard lip so that it slid just a little further into the receiver. This makes my Romanian WASR RPK look sweet, and I like the way the handguard feels too. I have the collapsible CCR AR-15 stock & pistol grip on this too. Fantastic looking and functional.

This is a good stock except for one thing. It would not fit my new Romanian AK WASR-10/63. I filed on it for three hours and I think it is made wrong. I ordered the other Tapco handguard with the picitiny rail in the bottom and it fit perfect right out of the box. So, therefore I would recommend it instead of this one. That is also why I gave this one one bullet.

had to file down and smooth some edges and knobs for it to fit. handles the cooling pretty well. worth the price if you dont mind tinkering with the part to get it to fit.

Warning: This handguard will not fit a milled reciever. Firearm: Arsenal Arms, SA93, Bulgaria Many hours with a file was the only reason i was able to install this item onto my rifle. I also had a hard time getting the wood piece off the gas tube. About another 2 hours on that alone. The preformance after application was well worth the work involved. I fired 100 rounds just as fast as i could and this forearm protected my hands from the heat of the barrel with no problem and it cooled down faster than with the wood stock. I am pleased with the preformance but i just wanted it out there that this product is made for a stamped reciever.

I purchased one of these for my old AK, and after removal of the factory stocks (which was tough) all the tapco products I installed simply slipped on without any issues whatsoever. They are extremely durable, make cleaning of the firearm easier in my opinion, do not get unbearably hot to the touch and Tapco simply provides the best products for the AK series out of any other company. You'd be a fool to buy something else. There is no better.

i bouth the grip for my WASR-10/63, it installed in about five minutes and i have no complaints. i fits my havd better then the original wood foregrip and doesn't heat up as fast.

I just put this on my Saiga .223. Fits great without any need for modding. I also added the rail set which was also a breeze to install. VERY happy with end result

I knew it wasn't made for an AMD-65 but heard it could be made to fit. A Dremel and a little patience and it fits great and looks good. Now to put part of the Galil rail kit and a tactical light on her. CTD is Awesome!!!

This is a great hand guard. Looks 100% better than the stock wood grip. Took a little bit of time to get it to fit just right. The top of the guard was a little loose fitting and would rattle a bit. To fis I got out the torch and heated up the inside of the guard and bent it just a little to give the top a tight fit. Other than that works great. I also would reccomend the Tapco 6 position collapsible stock #STK06161B. As well as the Advanced Technology butt pad #SBS4700. I just ordered the Command Arms grip #AG47 after this I should be about done changing this gun around. Everything gives it that more aggressive and tactical AR15 look at a fraction of the price.

Overall I like the Handguard. I did have to do some dremal grinding to make the handguard fit correctly. I had to grind down the plug that fits into the receiver a little to make the fit flush and around the barrel clamps. Also if you have never removed the gas tube from your AK be sure to read up on it before attempting to replace.

I'm most pleased with this product. It was easy to install and the directions were easy to follow.
