I don't know why the other gentleman is having expansion problems, but my experience has been vary favorable. I've used this ammo for both blacktail and wild hogs with 100% one shot kills. The rifle I've used most for hunting has been an old Savage 99, however, I've recently acquired a Rem 700 VSSF, and at 100 YDS, I'm getting sub 1" MOA, using a sandbag rest. While not quite as good as my hand loads, I'd say this is pretty good for factory loads! I'm buying more.

Bullet too hard

I shot a 150 pound doe at just under 40 yards with this round. The bullet left a small .30 caliber hole going in and an equally small hole coming out the other side. I was lucky that the bullet apparently hit an artery and the doe bled heavily. If it wasn’t for the massive blood trail she left as she took off through the woods, I would have never found her in the heavy South Carolina underbrush. I have been using Federal VitalShok with either Nosler partition or solid base bullets since then and have not had to track any deer over 12 yards. I took eight deer last season (including five nice bucks) with the Federal ammo and am sold on them. Cheap ammo is fine for sighting in, but I figure that after working so hard and spending so much hunting time to get that good shot on a trophy buck, saving less than $1 on a cheaper round of ammunition isn’t real bright. Besides, I do not really like tracking wounded deer.
