i also agree this ammo is too messy on smaller game like squirrels and cottontails head shots and body shots, yet at 300 meters i can hit a 2x4 easy

If I had to pick one 22lr cartridge to carry all the time it would be The Velocitor. Shoots great in any action, accuracy is far better than average, and is clean shooting. Has excellent kill range on coyotes and smaller, and will effectively kill a feral hog at 50 yards and longer if you hit him just behind the ear. It is too much for squirrels in my opinion, and also cottontails. great on jack's out to 150+ yrds. I am a believer in not shooting until I can get into a comfortable range, according to the size game. The 40 grain bullet gives excellent knockdown power. Know your game, know your cartridge and know your gun. Those are the rules for success. I have found the Velocitor to be a "hunters" cartridge. It is equally effective in Semi-auto or bolt action. A great Ruger 10-22 cartridge. I have been sold on it ever since it came out and tried it. It has the same accuracy as the Stinger, but the 40 grain bullet gives the power for the kill. If you shoot heavy barrel bolt action, you're not going to believe how good it is till you shoot it. Never had a miss-fire, or a miss feed, in any gun. All I can say is buy and enjoy!

these were pretty good bullets, quite impressive accuracy in my Ruger 10/22. cycled flawlessly in the semiautomatic action, definately more oomph to them than the el cheapo bricks you find everywhere. performance on targets was flawless, but average on game. it'll drop a jack rabbit if you hit it in just the right place. The CCI Velocitor is a great round, but if you want something to drop game no questions asked, try the CCI Stinger, performance is the same on paper targets, but there's a distinct difference on rabbits and even coyotes. both are good rounds though, so pick which one you want based on what you're going to be shooting at. If you want superb accuracy at long range for a .22, the velocitor is great. however, if you want the same accuracy and superior stopping power, get the Stingers.

I bought some just to try it, and now I'm hooked. Works flawlessly in all of my .22s, including the Beretta semi-auto handgun that I was a bit worried about. There's definatly more of a "boom" than the ammo I had been using. I don't know that I'll be able to go back to the cheap Thunderbolt or Wildcat bricks that I had been using for practice before. This really is that good. Can't wait to try it out for squirrel and rabbit season. Little critters won't know what hit them. They tell me it's suitable for 'yotes as well, and I have no reason to doubt it.

CCI Velocitor is awesome

I recently bought a P22. To test it I purchased a bunch of different ammo. This was the best of the ones I tested. It never jammed, and consistently was on bullseye. It also had some punch to it. Highly recommended. The other CCI ammo I tested also was great (mini mag round nose & hollow points), they never jammed and were accurate. The velocitor was the best of the bunch.

Accurate Long Range load

I have tried many different loads in my new Savage Mark II Target, with BSA Sweet .22 optics, to no avail. Many of the rounds i have tried would be great as far as windage accuracy(left-right) but i couldn't find the target! Every round had a different drop; some shot high, some low, never where i wanted. Keep in mind this same ammo was okay at 200 yrds and pretty good at 100. When we streched it out to 300 yrds the limitations of the different loads really showed as well as the inconsistance between each shot. Then at 450 yrds it was nearly impossible to find the paper. I thought i was beat. I was told to try the Velocitor round and all i could do was smile. Here we are at 450 yrds expecting the same as other yards when all the sudden i could actually correct my elevation. After about five rounds i was able to hit the cross hairs every time. We had about 1-4 MPH cross wind constant with occasional gusts which this 40 grain bullet easily dealt with(with proper timing). Long story short, if you need a LONG range(yeah i know its a .22) round for your target rifle, this is the be all and end all. Great buy and not too expensive either. Kris
