I got it today and I have fallen in love with it. It functions flawlessly. I guess the guy below got a bad one but I love mine. I have been looking at the kit and decided to go with this rather than the cheaper one at Cheaper Than Dirt. The magazine also has a good weight to it and feeds well. I am curious to see how long it will last without repairs. I have shot 300 rounds through it today.

I’ve read both good and bad reviews of these kits so I decided to try one out. Within the first 20 rounds I began having double feeds so I tore apart the kit to inspect. Upon inspection the extractor appeared to not engage the rim. I noticed that the groove cut for the extractor was not deep enough for the extractor to catch the cartridge rim when the bolt closed. I also noticed that the chamber was very very rough. Even after cleaning and oiling the casings were very hard to get IN and OUT of the chamber. Upon firing, the casings have a HAZY look symptomatic of a ROUGH chamber. All said and done after about 2 hours with the dremel now my kit works flawlessly. I cut the extractor groove to the depth it should be, I polished the chamber to a mirror shine, I reshaped the extractor to mate up properly with the groove in the chamber adapter. The reason I rated so low is because you should not have to do this much work to a $200 gun part. CMMG should test their kits multiple times before they leave the factory.

I bought one of these several years ago. I use Federal ammo and have had NO malfunctions whatsoever! I am SO impressed with this! I have a DPMS and absolutely love this thing! The only drawback, the magazine does not have a follower, after ten rounds it dry fires. I have replaces the firing pin after around 3000 rounds. They are 12.00 from black dog. HIGHLY recommend this!!!!! 15,000 plus rounds later and this thing works GREAT. GET IT!!!! you will not regret it...PROMISE!!!!

This conversion kit is well worth the money. Went to the range yesterday and put about 300 rounds through it (saving $111 in ammo) with no real problems. This will give us the opportunity to shoot more often because we can shoot at our favorite indoor range. We have had our AR 15 for over a year now and have only shot it a few times because of the cost and availability of ammo, but now we will be able to have more fun with it and go shooting more often. This is a must buy.
