5.0 Rating "Dangerous" ammo - 10/11/2010Ammo .30-06 Springfield Remington Managed Recoil Core-Lokt Pointed Soft Point 125 Grain 2660 fps 20 Round Box5.0000

This ammo is 'dangerous' as it may cost me my favorite 30-06! It bought some of this to test out with my wife who shoots Winchester model 70 Coyote Light in .243 Win uses 80-85 grain loads. With this ammo in my 30-06 A-bolt II which weighs 1 pound less than her model 70, the recoil was less. I think my wife is going to take my rifle so this may have turned out to be an "expensive" ammo purchase. I also checked the POA POI vs regular loaded 180 gr. Remington Core lokt and at 100 yrs it they were identical (bullets less than 1/2 inch apart) while at 200 yrs the managed recoil was a 1 inch below the regular ammo with the 180 gr. bullet. I am surprised and impressed.
5.0 Rating Antelope hunter - 9/21/2010Ammo .30-06 Springfield Remington Managed Recoil Core-Lokt Pointed Soft Point 125 Grain 2660 fps 20 Round Box5.0000

I took my 12 year old son on his first big game hunt to Wyoming for antelope. I wanted to make sure he had a great first hunt so I bought these managed recoil ammo hoping they did all they claim. At the range at 100 yards he hit 2 inches high, so I put in a 150 grain bullet to see how close it was to his shot and I hit about 1/2 inch from him. Next try them on a antelope. 3 shots later he had harvested his first big game animal. The ammo did what they claim and my son isn't scared of recoil, he now wants to go buy his own 30 06 rifle. Thanks to Remington for this great ammo.

Picked up a case a couple weeks ago. Put probably 60 rounds through my Remington 700 with no issues. I compared with a box of WWB, and the sighting was identical at 50yrds, but the recoil was remarkably less. No reason to kill your shoulder for just range fun. I'll be picking up another case soon.

I shot about 4" groups (which is good for me) at 100 yards in my remington 7400. It fed well, accurate, and good price. The best bang for the buck in my opinion.
4.0 Rating Shoots similar to Lapua Naturalis - 12/24/2009Ammo .30-06 Springfield Remington Managed Recoil Core-Lokt Pointed Soft Point 125 Grain 2660 fps 20 Round Box4.0000

I have the misfortune of living near the California Condor zone, so I need to shoot lead-free bullets. I found that the Remington Premier Green Lapua Naturalis grouped well out of my NEF single shot, so I have settled on that as my main round. I tried a bunch of different ammo to see how much I would have to adjust my scope depending on the type of ammo. Winchester 180 PSP shot nice groups, but 7" higher and to the left. The Rem CL 180 PSP shot a bit looser and 5" high. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Managed Recoil rounds shot 2" high directly above the Lapua Naturalis. Now I have two rounds I can use out of the same gun with only minimal correction. Also, according to the literature, the trajectory of the two bullets is almost identical.
