Good basic tool..., 02/17/2008 |

| As a general rule, everything I purchase made by CRKT is a good value, and this "Zillatool" is no exception. It is well made and functions just as it should. Mine came in perfect condition with no issues. My only complaint, is that it is just a little too "basic" for me. I am all for a minimalist approach to overblown multi tools, containing tools I never will use, but the Zillatool might take that approach just a little to far. There is only one more tool I would add, and thats some sort of sawblade...other than that, I am totally happy with it. Oh yes, lets try and make it in the U.S.A. too! |
the zilla tool, 02/13/2008 |

| I just got a little time to set down and review the new zilla tool. I was amazed at the sheer brute strength of this New CRKT product. While it does not have 50 tools like a swiss army knife, its right on target for a handy affordable carry around tool. The sharp precision cutter jaw is the best! Has cut everything I have used it on with little deformation. The easy application and deployment of the main knife blade is a big smile! No need for several manipulations to get the knife out!! Love that!
I use the plyers the most with a simple slide switch to deploy! Springs open so you do not have to reclose it every time to ratchet the use of pliers. This makes wrenching something go twice as fast! The screw driver bits are a real added plus! The built in pocket clip is an added benefit besides the handy holster. A very affordable tool with the feel and function of a hundred dollar item! This tool and my leatherman wave are my very favorites! Nothing out there for the money like it! 5 Stars! |
QA failures, 12/11/2007 |

| Avoid this product. Avoid this manufacturer. I received my 1st bad
ZillaTool in mid-October. The logo stamp in the Zytel scale was blurred
and the wire cutting jaws didn't meet. I paid postage for a warranty
return. I received my 1st Zilla-Tool warranty replacement 7 weeks later.
The back of the blade wasn't ground to properly engage the split liner
lock. I fired back a nastigram to the QA folks at CRKT requesting
assurance of a good product before spending more postage for a 2nd
return. On the phone, CRKT Operations Manager Patrick Gottsch told me to
keep the 2nd defective Zilla-Tool and assured me he would send a quality
replacement. I received a 3rd defective Zilla-Tool on 12/10/2007. One
side of the cutting jaws has a broken edge. The collectible rating of
NIB has a new low. |
