This is merely an extension of the stock of a standard AK47. It fits on the outside of the metal butt plate. You take the screws out, Leaving the metal butt plate in place then you screw this on as an extension of the stock over the metal butt plate lining up the mouse hole for the cleaning kit. It is that easy. If it isn't that easy then you are trying to put it some place that it ain't designed to go. Works fine, lasts a long time, drains to the bilges.

Great Easy Addition: a Romanian 1981 G model AKM wooden stocked AK's have a hard metal butt plate, not good for rapid/extended firing unless you want a beat up shoulder. this addition installs in minutes and adds 2"extra length to your stock. I am a 25 year Gun Smithing Vet & would recommend this product for any old wooden stocked Ak Rifle.

This extension "will" work well. It mounted just like it said it would. It makes the rifle look paramilitary. It is not quite wide enough and it is so UGLY. I wish there was a more civilian looking pad around.

Reduced felt recoil a little bit, but it was still hard rubber, and the hole in the back gave my arm hicky lol

Hi,I recomend this for all AKs with the orignal wood stocks. With this TAPCO AK STOCK Extension (item#49774) (on my a wsar ak47), it will save you from a sore shoulder and it makes it look even better. It is ready and EASY to install right from the package. You use the same screws thats allready on your stock. Randy K.
