| I was exited to receive my Boker caper. But excitement waivered when
I attempted to insert the knife in the sheath. It wasn't posible, the sheath
was too small. Only the blade could be inserted. I have to assume the sheath patterns are die stamped meaning every sheath stamped with that die are going to be too small for the knife. Boker is one of the leading knife mfg. and I own many Bokers. I can't believe these knives/sheaths aren't tested for fit before packegeing. This may seem
being picky but to salvage the knife, I have designed a sheath that the
knife will fit in. I will point out that the sheath is a good design and of
Boker quality, now Boker needs to design a knife that will fit these s
heaths. I'm not able to get into tests that Reviewer "Kayak" did but he
and I seem to have a sinilar view.
When I get my warranty in force, I plan to discuss this with Boker.
I realize this is supposed to be a reveiw on the knife and it is a fine
little knife, I love the smallness of it ( it could have a little sharper edge)
but a fine knife deserves an equally fine sheath. |

| The knife is terrific. Handy, small caping knife; strong and well made, and the horn handles are superb. Takes and holds an edge well. Finally had a chance to use it on a squirrel hunt, and it performs admirably, definitely would good for larger game. Very satisfied. The one letdown is the sheath. Since the blade is so short, the knife sits shallow in the sheath, and if one were to run or twist, the knife can come loose and fall out. It's a shame because in all other respects the sheath is great: beautifully crafted and tooled, thick, quality leather. It would benefit from being a deepset sheath where the entire knife sits in it, with maybe the last 3/4 inch of the handle exposed. I added a lanyard of paracord with a beltclip in the meantime until I have a new sheath made. Otherwise, the knife is great, and maybe one of my other knifes will fit the sheath better. |
