| I bought one of these after seeing it on Guns-&-Ammo TV. It does what it says it will do, four selectable reticles, 5 brightness levels in red or green, with 2x magnification. The flip-up see-through lens caps with pale yellow tint are a good idea.
However, there is one major drawback. Although the unit has a 42mm objective, the interior image path is necked down to about the size of a dime (12mm). It's like looking through a peephole, and the magnification reduces the field of view further. Using one of the larger reticles &/or one of the the brighter settings, it can be hard to see anything at all.
I'm also not happy with the reticle-selector knob, which has fairly mushy detents. If the selector doesn't click positively into each position, the point of aim is going to drift around. Fortunately, the single dot, which will probably get used most, is at one end, so you can just turn the knob all the way against the stop.
Two bullets to this unit for not being entirely useless - but I have a Simmons 42mm red dot (on a b-square riser) on a Beretta Storm 9mm carbine, and it is a whole lot better, and a lot cheaper.
