This gun is a wast of money, 05/07/2008 |
| Reviewer: Nate |
| This gun is terrible, I'v only used it four times and when I went to go to auto or semi it just made a terrible grinding noise. When we took apart we expected to see metal parts inside but it was all plastic and the gears had grinded it's teeth off. We also found that there was two huge weights in it, one in the handle and one in the butt of the gun(They were just hot glued into it!!) we took those out and the gun was soo much lighter and it was easier to carry. The thing that the gun came in said that the gun has metal parts; it only has metal parts on the outside and they put the weights in it to make you think that it has metal parts in it. The manual doesn't help at all and it doesn't have half the stuff on it, then what you see on the gun container before you buy it. |

Pretty good auto for the price, 10/28/2007 |

| fist of all, this gun looks cool- very accurate details and a good feel as well.
Second, the price is the cheapest i've found on-line-- and i couldn't find it anywhere else
Third, the metal barrel and the dual magazines are nice when your hunkered down low and somebody's trying to outflank you.
This is a very decent automatic rifle- probably the most durable for the price too. It is easy to use and get the hang of right away, it preforms well up close and at medium range. Though the BBS go slower over distance, anybody dumb enough to get caught in the open is as good as dead.
you can empty a 28 (or so) round clip in little time, but it is easy to conserve ammo for the game as well. The second clip is ideal or youd have to reload after every encounter. Not saying that youll never reload in a round (i almost always have an empty mag)
And i cannot find any spare mags anywhere online, so make sure you dont lose one!!
another drawback is the fact it is a pain to mount a sling on the thing
It has two holes in the body, one in the front and one in the back--
i shoved shoestring through both and connected the sling to it- otherwise i would never use it with my main rifle
also, the trigger has a bad delay- you have to pull it really fast and hard for it to shoot when you want it to
all in all, it is a good auto and it'll stay in my arsenal for trench sweeping and room clearing

not too shabby, 09/03/2007 |

| this gun isnt bad at all if you can get a little closer to your opponents. for 60-80 bucks, (depending on where you buy it), you get a pretty good deal. for the same price, you can get a much more powerful spring rifle, and in comparison, the g22 has much worse range and fps. the g22's most useful function is the full auto and the two 28rd clips- if you can get close enough to an opponent who has a springer, you will definently win. if you are too far away, you'll find the g22 shoots at a pretty low fps and it will be hard to hit them. also, the iron sights on this gun are really terrible. i dont like how you can only mount a sight in one place either, but its easy enough to make a better mount closer to your eye. i did that and it works great. when using the g22, dont shoot unless you're within the effective range for this gun. otherwise, you waste a lot of bbs fast. |

Nice Little Gun, 02/04/2007 |

| I bought this rifle after buying a cheap springer and wanting something more accurate and powerful. I have admired the Walther g22 .22 rifle and jumped at the chance to buy this airsoft rifle.
I've not handled a real steel G-22 but this appears to be a 1:1 copy. The rifle comes in a large blister pack. Included are the rifle, a mock silencer, two 28 round magazines, the instruction manual and a BB loader. The rifle is powered by six AA batteries that fit in the forearm. I prefer electronic devices that use off-the-shelf batteries, not proprietary rechargeables. A quick note, the instruction manual is in three languages and isn't clear. It relies heavily on small illustrations and photos and is hard to read.
There are three accessory mounting rails available. The carrying handle, front of the forearm and underside of the barrel all have mounting rails. The safety is a large u-shaped slider that is easily accessible with either hand. The magazine release is in an odd location and difficult to use quickly. It is in the back of the thumbhole and the bottom of the release must be pushed to free the magazine. You can't just push back with your hand, you must reach in with a finger. A spare magazine is stored in the rear of the buttstock.
Walther advertises the rifle as "dual power". As near as I can glean from the instructions you can manually cock the rifle to shorten the trigger pull. I've yet to try this feature and can't really address it. The rifle has an adjustable hop-up. To reach it you pull back the bolt and move a plastic wheel in the ejection port. It is clearly marked and easy to use.
The rifle has shot well so far. It uses .12g 6mm pellets. Bad weather has kept all my practice inside. All my testing has been at 25 feet. The rifle is far more accurate than the springer I had previously. You don't forget it's a smoothbore, but it groups well within that limitation. All the gears etc. are right under your ear so it is loud to the shooter. Other people in the house said it is very quiet. The rear sight pushes up and has several rotating square notch sights for various ranges. The sights are black on black and it is hard to determine elevation accurately. I put a red dot sight on mine and like the fact that I can push the rear sight up and use it through the red dot. Always good to have backup sights.
At 25 feet and the rifle on full auto I shot a ragged hole in the target big enough to stick my thumb through with one magazine. I was regularly hitting a pill bottle with the "iron" sights and the red dot. This thing has been a lot of fun and helped relieve cabin fever.
I highly recommend the rifle. I would prefer the rear sight to have been an aperture, but I planned on mounting the red dot, so it wasn't a deal killer. The "dual power" feature seems more hype than use. Other than that, I couldn't be happier. It's not the baddest looking rifle around, but it is a fun plinker.
