great pistol, 05/09/2008 |
| Reviewer: Tyr |
| I bought this pistol at Bass Pro Shops for about 75 bucks. Now that I've seen it here for alot less, I'm pretty frustrated I paid that much for it. But it was well worth it even for 75. This gun is great for hunting and target shooting. It is very accurate, it can shoot the head off a match from 5 yards away. Also extremely powerful, can kill ground hogs at about average range. I don't know why all the other reviewers think that it's bad for hunting because you have to pump it. If they can't make their first shot when hunting, then they don't deserve a second one. Also my favorite thing about this pistol is all you need to do is pump it, no CO2. I carry it in a shoulder holster when I go varmint hunting, it makes an excellent backup. |

| I had one of these a long time ago, looks like the design hasn't changed at all. Nice thing about variable power pump guns is...if it's a dog scrounging in your trash can you don't really want to kill it...but you don't want it coming back, either. You can vary the power...from sting to kill. |

Everglade Memories, 01/30/2008 |
| Reviewer: Tod Shealing |
| I got this gun for my fourteenth birthday. It has killed, squirrels, birds, rats and other varmints. Kills with four pumps...that's most things. Six pumps for a rat and a pellet will do the trick nicely. i was born here in southeast Florida and I've seen my share of venemous snales...eight pumps..I don't care if the pellet goes clean through, eight pumps for a snake, and a diamond head at that. I know the everglades. i fished there with my Dad and various uncles. They taught me to shoot. The breath in and stop halfway through the exhale. That slows your heart rate and steadies your aim. next, squeeze the trigger with steady force. That pistol and me shared some adventures. We ate most things I shot, except the rats. I'm military and so have moved alot, but the memory of the Everglades and my family and the game we cooked over the basalt, I will never forget. I will never forget my country, I will always love my family, and I will never forget the feel of that Crossman pistol. It's a good, solid performer. |
Awesome, 12/11/2007 |

| I owned this pistol 22 yrs ago. I found it to be the most acurate shooter I have ever known. I remember having the extended stock making it into a rifle type shooter giving a more steady shot. From the bottom of at least a 80 foot high hill, I took aim on a telephone pole at the top. At this range the pole is a very narrow target. With ten pumps, I heard the distinct sound of the pellet hitting wood !!! Birds, rodents, anything you want to get rid of, have no chance against this shooter.
I am greatly looking forward to getting a new one. |
Great Pistol, 11/23/2007 |

| As they other reviewers stated - If you are looking for an accurate pellet pistol with nice power - This is the one! Wanted to scare a squirrel away from the bird feeder and two pumps did not scare him - it killed him! Oh well - problem solved. As they state on the side of this gun - This is NOT a toy and it is fun to shoot. Nice Shooter for target or rodents. |

| Ordered the pistol one day, got it the next day, and the following day took out a squirrel that had eaten through some of my wires resulting in no bedroom lights. The shot was done from about 7 yards with eight pumps. I had fired 3 practice shots indoors to kinda sight it in. The shot was a neck shot, and I hope I never have to do that again. I now shoot the 1377 most everyday, and it does take practice to group within a 1 inch circle at 10 yards. (the squirrel shot was a lucky one) It comes with plastic grips, no problem, Crossman and other sources offer wooden prips. Mounts are available for scopes and red dots. Crossman offers an optional rear sight. Plastic breech bothers you, you can order a metal one from Crossman. This is fun air pistol, with lots of upgrades available. The barrel, at little over 10 inches, gives an edge to the pistols velocity. I have read that its trigger pull is too much. (about 4.5 pounds) I have small hands, and find the trigger size and pull perfect wtih practice. I rest the pistol on a leg upside down with my fingers extended to pump it, no pinched fingers. A Sharpie will take out any nicks on the blue, mine came new with a few nicks. Jim |

| This is the most powerful pistol i could find. It can take out wood chucks, skunks and everything else. It is great for hunting because it can fit in your back pack. Some people complain about the 10 pumps but one pellet going fast enough is better than a bunch not going fast enough. |

| I bought this gun and loved it. It has great velocity for a pistol. The only thing I don't like is how long it takes to pump. Ten pumps takes about 30 seconds, so if you want a hunting gun, this is not the gun to get. I use it for target shooting, and I think it is perfect for that. |

| My cousin,Tommy, and I saw this gun at a local Department Store back in the eighties. We pooled the money we'd spared from our billiard games and purchased the gun. This is the Cadillac of multi-pump, single shot performance. The long nose of this pistol insures an accurate shot, and the windage adjuster above and behind the breech further focuses your aim. This gun is a workhorse. I still have that gun today. Wood polish and pell gun oil have kept this beauty in tip top shape. There is no comparing the feel of this gun to any other multi-pump pistol. The name Crossman truly means quality. When this gun was first proposed to be produced, goose bumps must have erupted. It is truly a marvel of good craftmanship. Quality lasts. This gun is proof. Mine has the slide breech and not the bolt action breech of later models. I'd stand it up to any other. It's a wonderfully designed and constructed gun. It is so accurate! It is a marvel. Thank you Crossman men and women...thak you very much. |
