After careful consideration and hours spent trying to find a decent scope that I didn't have to take a loan out for, I decided I'd give this scope a try. I was looking for a good scope to go on my brand new Alexander Arms 6.5 Grendel upper matched to a Rock River match lower AR. I had always heard and been told to expect to pay a lot for a good scope. However, I had issues with paying as much (or more) for a scope as I did for the gun it was going upon. And like many others out there, I'm always looking for a good bargain for my hard earned money. This scope happens to be one of those bargains. Is it as good as a Leopold or a Nightforce? Maybe not. But it is worth every penny, and then some, for what you pay for it. If you are looking for a very good scope and just do not want to (or not able to) pay $1200 - $1600 for it, this scope is for you. In a World full of increased prices for poor quality items, this scope bucks that trend and continues to amaze me everytime I use it. Look no further, you had better get your order for one in now.

I ordered this scope as an entry-level optic for the Remington 700 I am building to be a replica of the USMC M40A1 rifle (hard to afford a Leupold Mark 4 or Schmidt & Bender on my salary), and I had planned to start off with this scope and work my way up to being able to afford one of the high-end models. After having scope dropped, repeatedly fired and taking the beatings of a .308, I don't think I'll ever get rid of it. The features of the TRS-1 match all of the high-dollar models, and the TRS-1 is solidly built. This has to be one of the best-kept secrets in the world of tactical rifle scopes, and after receiving mine I honestly thought CTD has incorrectly labeled the price (I was expecting another zero at the end!). I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a top-quality tactical scope on a budget. Or, heck, if you can afford a Schmidt & Bender or one of the other models, get one of these too. You can't go wrong!

In a nutshell this is a DARN GOOD SCOPE! You cannot go wrong here! Initially I was looking at the Nikon Monarch line of optics because i am going to shoot 500+ yards on this weapon normally. While I have not gotten this out to 500 yards yet, it is very good at 350 yards. Images are sharp, and Mil-Dots are accurate. I was sceptical at first if this weapon would handle my platform (Shooting Barrett 99 - 50BMG), so I contacted Millett directly. When i spoke to them they told me "by all means it should be able to take the beating, and assured me if it failed it would be in warranty". I was still not 100% convinced, but knew that at the least I could get it in and put it on my .22-250 if it busted. I took it to the range and pounded 24 rounds through my 50BMG (750 Grain) with it, and it never wavered. The first initial shots were to get it on paper, and the remaining shots were to "zero" it at 200 Yards. The Illumination is great, their are plenty of settings on it from super low (nv) to very bright (10). Adjustments are very smooth and click nicely at 1/8 MOA (100 yards), however remember that one FULL turn is 9" at 100 Yards... It takes some getting used to. Another great easy to use feature is the "range finder / focus", this really helps out as well. At 100 Yards on full power it's almost a little too much power, you should ideally back it off to around 12x so that you can get a wider view of the target and the surrounding area, on full power at 200 yards it's just zero'd in nice. I would recomend GOOD solid mounts for this, with the 50mm objective lens you should get HIGH mounts at least, if not the VERY HIGH. I got the Burris Xtreme Tactical (HIGH) mounts and my scope sits about 1/8" off the rails, so it's pretty close. Shooting revealed that my face had to be pushed onto the weapon a little bit, but since my weapon is flat from the rails all the way back (unlike regular rifle which has a drop) this is something i have to deal with. Withouht writing a college dissertation on this, you cannot go wrong. CTD has GREAT pricing on this scope, trust me I looked around at a LOT of places. Enjoy! You CANNOT GO WRONG!

Excellent quality scope at an affordable price. Bright, clear optics with very positive click adjusting wind & elev. turrets. Super sturdy side focus knob is a pleasant attrubute. Millett has a strong reputation for quality and this scope is no exception...I only hope that CTD will restock on this item soon and manage to keep the price low!

To those of you who are looking for the best scope value for the money, then you have found it. I have 4 TRS-1 scopes on rifles ranging from bolt actions to M1A's and an H&K 91. This scope has yet to fail to amaze me. The adjustments are infinitely repeatable and the optics are unbelievably clear. The night vision setting is awesome for use by those that need to use night vision. I will go so far as to say that I have traded or sold all my other scopes and replaced them with the Millett scopes of 2 different models the TRS-1 and the Buck Gold version, both side focus. I have never had to use the warranty, but I have spoken to the folks at Millett and found them to be very professional and helpful. Something you don't see everyday is a scope that has 74 vertical MOA that is this clear and useable for this kind of money. I would have no problem putting this scope right next to any of the other "high end" tactical scopes in Iraq and I would never feel any disadvantage. I am in no way connected with Millett, I just believe in sharing my experience with a great product. Sincerely, Jimbo
