| Bought these to see if I could use them in place of some emergency flares in my car or candles in my storm kit. I ordered blue because it really catches the eye from a long way off and I like blue. Cope.
I think that they beat flares hands down, but for long term lighting candles still win out. If you could blow a light stick out, they'd be great. If they didn't cost an arm and a leg, they'd be perfect. But when you need to change a tire in the middle of the night or mark a wreck, having a light source that you _know_ will be there for as long as you need it is great. Batteries die, lightbulbs burn out and flares last all of 15 minutes (and theres the problem of the 2 thousand degree flame). Light sticks just work.
4 bullets, but thats no reflection on CTD. It's just that chemlights/lightsticks/glosticks are still expensive no matter how many you buy. CTD sure beats out walmart or a party store though. |
