My first pellet gun!, 06/14/2007 |

| I have been a hunter all my life but this is the first air rifle I have ever owned. I did a lot of research and decided on the .22 cal for the knock down power it provides as opposed to the .177 cal. I had to cut 1" off of the stock in order to give me the correct trigger pull length. The scope did not come mounted. I placed the scope mount with the locking screw in the forward position and the other mount up against the screwed in plate in the barrel. I then locktited the screws that mount the rings to the barrel to eliminate any vibration (medium grade locktite, blue) I then mounted the scope, tightening the screws in sequence as to get an equal set. (did not locktite these). The pellets I used were Copperhead hunting pellets (pointed for hunting). At 20 yds. I had a shot group of 6 rounds, 2 in the bullseye and 4 within a half inch of those. I did not have to touch the scope at all. While I was sighting in the scope, one of the many chipmunks I have in the yard popped up at 30 yds. and is now cemetary dead. This is really a great rifle at a great price. I'm really glad that I didn't spend $200 or more to get another rifle. |
