Great adapter, 12/14/2006 |

| This works very well. I mounted it on a medium light weight camera tripod that is easy to carry, mounted a large spotting scope, shooting a Savage FV12 HB with Leupold 6.5-20 scope and a Ruger 22-50 VT, with laminated stock and scope. Did turn the rubber saddle so it was away from the verticle pivot side of the tripod plate. Didn't have a problem but thought the tripod arm might open to verticle with the heavy rifles and recoil so did this as a hunting precaution. It was stead, easy to use, and stood up to recoil. The gun saddle is made of soft rubber and if anyone was worried about marring a fine finished stock, Mole Skin, found at any drug store could be used on it. I already had a tropod rest my wife had made to use on this camera tripod, but the spotting scope is a neat addition. excellent buy for the price. |

| This product is pretty nice! It's sturdy enough for a typical rifle, don't know if it would handle the weight and recoil of a large 14 pound rifle, but it's perfect for my AR and MAK90. You can flip it sideways for those who shoot southpaw, but be careful if your weapon ejects to the right!
For my use, it's great for shooting at the range from a table; haven't tried prone shooting, but I'd imagine it works just fine as well. I wanted this adaptor because personally I don't install bipods on my rifles; to much fuss! The adaptor cuts down on the amount of gear I have to haul to the range, and it makes my setup much cleaner. You range hounds should look into it! |
