Unlike conventional vertical fore-grips, the Magpul AFG1 (Angled Fore-Grip) takes into account natural body mechanics and provides a comfortable and stable user interface that reduces fatigue and allows for more precise weapon control. By positioning the shooter's hand high on the centerline of the bore, the AFG1 helps mitigate recoil and control the weapon, facilitating faster, more accurate follow-up shots.

After shooting with the AFG more, it's great when shooting from the prone or kneeling, but when standing, it feels worthless. Today, I went through more than 200 rounds (would have done more but gun broke -.-) and the grip seems to be only useful when you can casually grab hold of it. I had this on my metal forearm rail, which had the other Magpul rail covers; the ones that snap together (I also recommend NOT TO BUY, as they barely snapped together and made it huge). The handguard was so large, my hand wasn't able to grasp it as the Magpul training videos say to. Now I have the Magpul MOE handguard, so maybe I will think about putting it on to test again, but I won't hold my breath. Overall, this was a great idea, but I just don't find it useful enough for the weight and awkward grip, especially since today had strong winds that made holding the barrel straight while standing very difficult and tiresome after an hour.

This grip works fine. At first, it felt weird holding it, but it really helps hold onto the barrel for better quick aiming and support during firing. Some people prefer the little vertical grips, but Magpul has explained how these can really be a beneficial grip.

I mounted this grip on my 870 and it is a very comfortable grip and good quality construction. The only 2 faults I have found were, number one the sides stuck up too high to clear my tri-rail mount so i had to dremel it down to fit, and number two the very front of it will bash your knuckles to death on a 12 gauge if you dont hold it exactly right. If not for those 2 things, it would have been 5 bullets. But overall I would highly recommend this product.

I put this on the foreend of an 870 and couldn't be happier about the fit and function of the product. I also have the AFG2 on my M4 and am equally impressed. CTD, as usual, shipped my order super fast.

I had the Magpul vertical foregrip on my rifle and I was shown a better way to hold my gun for more accurate shots and this angled grip makes shooting that way second nature. Highly recommended.
