7.62x54R (Rimmed), Romanian Light Ball, 149 Grain Steel Core Full Metal Jacket Bullet, 440 Round Tin.

Romanian military 7.62x54R ammunition, 149 grain, BT FMJ, Silver-tipped bullet produced from the 1970s to 1980s. Lead and steel core, steel cased, Berdan primed, and steel tip packed in a sealed 440 round spam can with 20 round sub packs, ideal for long term storage. This excellent ammo performs well in both old and new model firearms and is corrosive; clean your gun after using. Note: Some lots may not have the tip of the bullet painted silver. This ammo is still manufactured to the same specs. Can opener not included.

I haven't shot the stuff I got from CTD. However, I have shot well over 2000 of these surplus rounds and have not had a single issue at all (not all from the same rifle). No split shells, no jamming, and no feed issues. It's accurate enough for my use, because we don't have a decent range over 300 yards that's close by. I plan to dump this case I just ordered in a few days and will update this review, if for any reason this should change, but I doubt it will. They were all made around the same time, in the same place, and to the same specs. I imagine that they are all pretty much the same, with the exception that some are not painted, but they all are steel core (this means choose your targets and count on ricochets because you will have them often). As for CTD, as always, they were great and I will clearly be buying from them again.

For this price, you can't beat it. The rounds are better than what you would buy at the store. Fast shipping. Have a chisel and hammer ready if you don't have a tool to open it. Easy enough though. Will be ordering another tin soon

I purchased a tin of this, and am very satisfied. My comment is on opening the can. If you don't have the can opener, use an air chisel. I had mine open in less than 30 seconds. Also, this is corrosive ammo! You have to clean the gun the same day you shoot or it will cause pitting in the barrel. Use Windex (yes, Windex glass cleaner) to neutralize the corrosion, then wire brush, followed up with gun oil/cleaner. Happy shooting!!

Really fast shipping! This was my first time buying ammo online, and CTD did not disappoint! I ordered late on Friday and received the can on Wednesday. I haven't gotten a chance to shoot yet, but it's surplus ammo, so I'm not too worried. 5 bullets for excellent shipping and a cool looking tin.

Just picked up a can of this, and used a chisel to open the can. It's pretty easy to open using a good sharp cold chisel, and I now have a cool tin to store things in or to soak parts in! On to the ammo. Shoots great! My brother and I went through nearly 200 rounds in one afternoon in both of our Mosin Nagant 91/30's. I was getting 4-5 inch groups with this stuff at 200 yards using iron sights. Not one misfire that wasn't operator error. Neither of us had one problem with any jamming in the weapon, even after literally going through nearly 40 rounds in a minute. I will definitely buy more before my next range day and to stock up on before its all gone! Just make sure to clean with a cleaner that takes the salts out of the barrel or you will pit it. I use Windex to remove the primer salts, works great!
